The staff at Chiswick Manor have always been very warm and most importantly responsive to my Mother and our family's needs when it comes to her care. This has been consistent throughout the 2.5 years that mum has been a resident even during the very difficult time with Covid19.
Nirav, the Lifestyle Supervisor, really strives to ensure that residents feel a sense of purpose in their lives, whether a fabulous birthday celebration, spiritual gatherings, cultural festivals, gardening, art classes, and even most recently a grocery stall set up in the recreation room where people could choose and "purchase" their own fruit - while the money they used was not real, they were able to take their purchases back to their room. My parents had a fruit shop once, and mum so enjoyed the experience of serving people while another resident looked after the cash register. The best thing is he makes mum and other residents laugh, a lot! And who couldn't use more of that.
The Nurses are very kind, professional and extremely responsive and this makes a big difference to our peace of mind. The assistants are caring, warm and also work very hard to care for residents. Kitchen and cleaning staff are warm, ready with a smile - almost nothing seems a problem for them. I think you get the picture - we feel mum is surrounded by warm caring professional people and you need that sense when choosing where your parent is going to reside.
The General Manager, Damien, is very dedicated and with all the challenges of managing an aged care home during Covid19 still kept family members updated with the constant changes required by the Health Department. Most importantly he and his entire staff kept residents safe and comfortable. I can't imagine the numbers of hours he and his team worked during the worst of Covid!
