Making happy memories in residential aged care
9th February 2022 | 2 mins
Creating and celebrating moments of joy and memories is a fundamental part of life in our Care Communities. Recognising anniversaries is an important part of this.
Helen and Colin celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary at Chiswick Manor Care Community and our team presented them with a truly special gift to mark the occasion – A “Made for Memories” album.
“Made for Memories” albums capture special events celebrated in our Care Community such as residents’ birthdays and anniversaries. The albums are collated by our team and given to residents as a reminder of those precious moments.
For Helen and Colin’s “Made for Memories” album, each page was beautifully decorated by the couple’s “meaningful mates” – team members who are their special buddies. Helen and Colin were delighted with the album and touched to receive such a thoughtful gift.
As the author Gloria Gaither wrote, “Memories are perhaps the best gifts of all,” which is why our Chiswick Manor team have been gifting these important albums to residents in recent years.
The albums have also become a treasured keepsake for families after a resident has passed away, providing comfort and reminding them of happy moments their loved one enjoyed in our care.
Colin often pulls out their album to reminisce on his wedding anniversary and his life spent with Helen and their beautiful family. The pair look forward to celebrating many more happy moments with us at Chiswick Manor Care Community.
