Opal HealthCare is delighted to announce an exciting new investment in the South Australian community with its joint acquisition, along with local leading retirement village provider Living Choice, of Highgate Park in Adelaide.
Its partnership with Living Choice demonstrates Opal HealthCare’s commitment to enabling older people to remain in their local community, with access to the right support and high-quality care, through all the stages of ageing.
Highgate Park sits on 2.8 hectares at 103 Fisher Street in Fullarton, in Adelaide’s inner-south, and features a vacant 11-level building known as the Julia Farr Centre, built in the 1970s. The first five floors will be redeveloped by Opal HealthCare into a state-of-the-art new Care Community offering single bedrooms with ensuites for 143 residents. The upper levels will be converted into residential apartments by Living Choice.
The new Care Community will offer views from its upper levels to the sea, Adelaide CBD and across the metropolitan area to the Adelaide Hills.
It will include Opal HealthCare’s signature design features such as spacious indoor/outdoor living spaces, a café, a hair salon, a dedicated memory care neighbourhood for residents living with dementia, green outdoor spaces, edible gardens, Registered Nurses onsite 24/7 and off-street parking for visitors.
Opal HealthCare is one of Australia’s leading private aged care providers. Specialists in residential aged care, Opal HealthCare has more than 12,000 team members caring for 9,000 residents.
It owns and operates 100 Care Communities in five states, including five in Adelaide in the suburbs of Joslin, Everard Park, Glen Osmond, Old Reynella and Aldinga Beach.
