Welcome to Annandale Grove

Annandale Grove Care Community is located in the peaceful, leafy heart of Sydney's inner west, with easy access to local cafes, transport options, and the CBD. Our Care Community is known for its warm and welcoming atmosphere, with cosy gardens, vibrant courtyards, and a thriving veggie patch where we take seasonal fruit and vegetables straight from pot to plate.

Care at Annandale Grove

We offer a relaxing environment with the compassionate and personalised care of 24/7 registered nurses. Our experienced leadership work alongside a capable and confident team to offer residential aged care, palliative care, dementia care and respite care. Allied health professionals also visit regularly. We recognise that understanding the big and the little details about how you like to live each day is important to us – so that we can help you feel at home, have the right support and live your best life in our care.

When the sun’s out you’ll see residents enjoying our light-filled courtyards, chatting with family and friends, or enjoying our sensory gardens where there are always eggs to collect and tropical birds to admire. Our diverse mix of cultural heritage is a point of connection for residents and the team and is reflected in our menus. Music plays an important role in our days and we have an active group of card players who enjoy friendly competition. Many residents have personal friendships with local high school students who visit as part of the STEP schools program. Our unique partnership with Thread Together gives residents access to brand new clothes of their choice, and our companion model of care fosters a close sense of community and personal connection among residents.

Mixed feelings. While the staff are good with the residents and a few people I think highly of as far as their support capacities .. Some of the residents are too unwell and incidents occur. I've heard of two separate physical fights between (elderly) residents and an assault on a woman who can't walk, talk or feed herself (by another resident) and it was the staff who discovered it - but unfortunately not in time to prevent it. These incidents are in the last few months. This is a place where people who are at the end of their lives go when they aren't able to care for themselves independently for one reason or another and require assistance. It used to be affordable, but most people spend the entirety of their age pension to share a room with at least two others. That's not inclusive to services such as haircuts and nail trims and It's a mixed bag as to the quality of people and their histories.. it should be a space where safety is guaranteed and threats or violence isn't tolerated although it's a bit hard to enforce when one reaches end-of-the-line residential care. I'm conflicted on whether to pursue an alternate nursing home because upheaval is the last thing the oldies need and adjusting is too difficult at that age But I will have to weigh the pro's and con's and reassess if things don't improve
