Welcome to Cameron Park Care Community

Cameron Park Care Community enjoys the best of both worlds, being located in a quiet residential setting with the amenities of the Newcastle CBD within 30 minutes drive. Our Care Community is a thriving community of people primarily from the Newcastle and Hunter region. Recently renovated, we have a mix of old-world charm and modern styling, with a movie theatrette, shaded courtyards, and a communal BBQ in our gardens for residents, friends, and family to enjoy.

Care at Cameron Park

We offer a relaxing environment with the compassionate and personalised care of 24/7 registered nurses. Our experienced leadership work alongside a capable and confident team to offer residential aged care, palliative care, dementia care and respite care. Allied health professionals also visit regularly. Our memory care neighbourhood provides an environment custom-designed to support the individual needs of residents who are living with dementia. We recognise that understanding the big and the little details about how you like to live each day is important to us – so that we can help you feel at home, have the right support and live your best life in our care.

Daily living at Cameron Park

We are a family-oriented Care Community with close ties to the local community, including the local childcare centre where we enjoy reciprocal visits with our young friends. We have an active group of residents who enjoy walking to the local supermarket and spending time outdoors in our gardens and courtyards. Our private dining room is a favourite spot for special occasions and family celebrations.

It’s an environment where you’re free to enjoy your interests, independently or with others, continue to learn and try new things, and participate in Cameron Park life – so you can enjoy your day, your way.

Highly Recommend. Newer care facility with a health resort feel about it. Lovely room, gardens to enjoy, attentive and friendly staff, day trips, cafeteria, happy hour on Fridays. My dad in the dementia wing, after being confined to a wheel chair after his last admittance to hospital, then waiting for placement, after one month in Opal Cameron Park is up and about on a walker, walking around the wing and is happy and settled (and so are we). Thank you Opal Cameron Park for looking after my dad. 5 stars 🌟

Last night 9 July 2025 was the Drysdale Family Dinner. Thank you for organising this. The laughter that filled the room while families got to eat a beautiful dinner with their loved ones. My dad described the entree as Dee Licious and his roast lamb as GLORIOUS. Thank you to Liz, Rachel

They provide residents and their families with the opportunity to enjoy a restaurant-style meal without leaving the community, while also offering a chance to experience the quality of food and service their loved ones receive every day. These dinners are also a wonderful way to connect with other families and meet members of our dedicated team. We hope to see you at the next Drysdale dinner!

My aunty has been @ Cameron Park for 6 months. She has a collapsed vocal cord so hard for staff to hear her. They take their time to listen & do a wonderful job of looking after her. From meeting Kylie on the tour of the facility to dealing with Alyssa & Kate & all the nursing staff & cleaning staff, it was the best decision I made for her. Kiara & Nick are a joy as soon as you walk in the door. We have all been made to feel welcome - including her dog that I take in. They have a great little cafe that has awesome food for family or residents if they wish to get something different. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Opal Health Care. Absolutely beautiful surroundings, always clean & happy residents. A testament to all staff involved.

Unfortunately my mother passed away at this facility 2 weeks ago. She lived here over 2.5 years and hated every day. Levels of care fluctuated widely. Mum was high maintenance and could be difficult, but was utterly reliant on team , and while most treated my mother with care and respect, there are events I witnessed that I’m still still struggling to deal with. I can not drive past this facility without feeling ill. I’m sorry but based on my experience I can not recommend
