Visitor guidelines at our Care Communities

Our Care Community is our residents’ home. We support residents’ rights to a safe, respectful and inclusive environment, and their right to choose which visitors they see and when, subject to safety requirements. To support our residents’ rights while protecting the wellbeing, health and safety of residents, team members and others at the Care Community, all visitors must comply with the following visitor guidelines:

Visitor Information
  • Follow all Care Community entry requirements, including signing in and out.
  • Do not enter the Care Community if unwell, and comply with any infection prevention and control measures
  • Treat everyone with dignity and respect, in a polite and courteous manner.
  • Do not behave in a way that may impact the wellbeing, health or safety of others.
  • Do not act in a way that is abusive, aggressive, threatening, intimidating, bullying, harassing, disruptive or discriminatory towards anyone (in person or online).
  • Respect the privacy and confidentiality of residents, team members and others – do not film or record at the Care Community or share information of others without permission.
  • Do not unreasonably interfere with the delivery of care to residents, and share any feedback you may have in a respectful manner.
  • Comply with all lawful and reasonable directions of Care Community team members, including directions to protect health, safety and wellbeing.

Active Screening for all people entering Care Communities

We have a number of visitor and safety procedures and measures in place in our Care Communities to keep our residents, team, and visitors safe. This is applied to every person who enters our Care Community, including every team member on every shift, and includes:

  • A current flu vaccination is recommended before you visit a Care Community.
  • Key questions about:
    • recent travel
    • exposure to anyone diagnosed with COVID-19
    • exposure to locations identified by state health authorities as at risk
  • Checking for respiratory symptoms
  • A requirement to sign the visitor log (for non-team members)
  • Hand sanitisation on entering and reminders to do so regularly while in the Care Community
  • Reminders regarding the importance of spatial distancing

Visitors who do not comply with these rules may be required to leave the Care Community, and their visits may be subject to restrictions as reasonably necessary and proportionate to manage risks to anyone’s health, safety or wellbeing.
