Welcome to Altona Gardens Care Community

Altona Gardens Care Community is located on a quiet street in Altona North, 20 minutes from the Melbourne CBD with easy access from the West Gate Freeway. We are known for our welcoming, vibrant, and inclusive environment, we have a diverse representation of cultural heritage. Residents of our Care Community enjoy our terrace and gardens which offer peaceful spaces to spend time with family and friends or have moments of quiet reflection.

Care at Altona Gardens

We offer a relaxing environment with the compassionate and personalised care of 24/7 registered nurses. Our experienced leadership work alongside a capable and confident team to offer residential aged care, palliative care, dementia care and respite care. Allied health professionals also visit regularly. Our memory care neighbourhood provides an environment custom-designed to support the individual needs of residents who are living with dementia. We recognise that understanding the big and the little details about how you like to live each day is important to us – so that we can help you feel at home, have the right support and live your best life in our care.

Daily Living at Altona Gardens

Our residents enjoy all kinds of creative pursuits, be it singing, music, arts or crafts, or even the occasional game of bocce. Our gardens are a source of pleasure for many, and our elevated vegetable patch is nurtured by residents in our gardening club, who enjoy harvesting fresh produce for our in-home chef to cook up at mealtimes.

With us, you’re free to enjoy your interests, independently or with others, continue to learn and try new things, and participate in Altona Gardens life – so you can enjoy your day, your way.

We had to enter Mum into Respite Care after her discharge from Western Health as she still needed care and Altona Gardens came highly recommended. Michelle, Shelia and the entire team have looked after Mum perfectly with the upmost care, attention and for her well being. There is no shortage of daily activities and the facilities are excellent. I can highly recommended Altona Gardens Community Care.

So grateful for the team who cared for a friend during their respite stay. Every single staff member, no matter the department, was kind, professional, and approachable. They kept me updated every step of the way, which made such a difference. The facilities were also excellent: the dining room, entertainment areas, and outdoor gardens were clean, inviting, and beautifully maintained, with tasteful décor throughout (no photos of rooms for obvious privacy reasons). Thank you for the compassion and care shown to our loved ones. I chose this place because it felt very much like ‘home “. When I visit my mum it feels like I’m going to visit her in her home. The gardens are beautiful and the food is really nice. Staff are caring and attentive and very responsive. They genuinely care for your loved one. Highly recommend.

A big thank you to Michelle and her team for looking after mum whilst dad had a hip replacement.Dad was able to focus on himself knowing that mum was being cared for.For that we are forever grateful. The staff were very attentive to mum and made her feel welcomed when she felt most vulnerable.

I work in aprox 30 aged care places a year as a tradie, I only spent 3 days here, but you pick up on the feel of a place quickly and it was very obvious straight away that this facility had a great vibe going on, probably the best I've seen. From the front counter and of course the amazing nurses, the kitchen staff and even the handyman, everyone was helpful and just happy and this was reflected in the residents as well. It was a very positive experience. So much so that I felt the need to share this and just to acknowledge the great work they are doing here. BB
