Dementia courses

Elsie Pink has been at Berkeley Vale Care Community for three and a half years. Her husband Ern also lived at the Care Community with Elsie but passed away nearly two years ago. To keep herself busy and to help keep her brain cells busy and functioning well Elsie has been completing online courses with our partner Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre which is part of the University of Tasmania. She has completed several dementia courses, including Understanding Dementia, Understanding Traumatic Brain Injury, Understanding Parkinsons & Psychology of the Older Person.
She has always been an avid user of technology and frequently helps out in the lifestyle department of our Care Community. Her enthusiasm for learning and her drive to understand the people around her is an inspiration to us all. She also writes a column for our local Care Community newsletter telling the story of different residents each month.
