Ivanhoe Grand Care Community (formerly BlueCross Ivanhoe) redefines residential aged care in Melbourne’s northeast, offering a luxurious, purpose-built environment in the heart of leafy Ivanhoe. Centred around a grand three-storey glass atrium, our Care Community is designed to bring in light, create calm, and support residents to live with meaning, connection, and comfort every day.

Our four distinct wings feature modern single suites, each with a private ensuite—many with views across Ivanhoe or the city. For those seeking more space and independence, our apartment-style suites include a bedroom, lounge and kitchenette. Residents can enjoy our café, piano lounge, hair and beauty salon, club lounge with happy hour, and a private dining room for special occasions with loved ones.

Our compassionate and experienced team delivers 24/7 nursing care across permanent, respite, dementia, and palliative needs. Residents benefit from onsite allied health support, nutritious meals prepared by our Chef, and a dedicated wellbeing team who nurture personal interests and holistic wellness. Our memory care neighbourhood provides an environment custom-designed to support the individual needs of residents who are living with dementia.

My grandmother stayed as respite 3 months ago, though it was only for couple of weeks, she had a great time. The care was excellent, the staff were caring and friendly. Everyone from laundry reception cleaners activity staff nurses and carers, they are all helpful and approachable. Management addresses concerns promptly.the facility is clean and has lots of spaces for families to gather. Thank you Ivanhoe Grand

My wife Annie entered Ivanhoe Grand Care community, formally known as Blue Cross, at the end of March 2024. For the 15 months that Annie was in age care , I visited her six days out of seven per week . This gives me a very strong perspective of how the community functions .My overall experience is excellent with caring and competent staff, first rate facilities, a responsive administrative team and a plethora of interesting activities. The personal carers who looked after my wife were sensitive, kind , responsive to requests and very competent. The registered nurses team as well as the care coordinators kept a sharp eye on Annie’s health. The food quality and service for meals is of a very high standard. Events like happy hour on a Friday afternoons are joyous occasions along with various special event celebrations. If a loved one enters age care, it’s critical that the principal carer takes a close interest in all aspects of the care community, for you become part of an extended family. Before Annie entered the Ivanhoe community, I assessed nine other age care facilities. I chose Ivanhoe as number one and was delighted when she was accepted at Ivanhoe. I should like to thank all of the staff at Ivanhoe for the wonderful care they provided to Annie and, I might also add , me, over the 15 months that she was a resident.
