Carers respite- providing kindness and support
18th October 2022 | 4 mins
Opal HealthCare offers compassionate respite care, in some of our Care Communities, to give you a well-deserved break, knowing your loved one is in safe, caring hands. This temporary stay in one of our Care Communities provides them with full support, including 24/7 clinical care and engaging activities, while you take time to recharge, travel, or manage other commitments. It’s a positive way to support your own wellbeing and ensure your loved one continues to receive person-centred care from our dedicated team.
Hear from Roseanne's experience of respite and permanent care at Highton Gardens Care Community, in the video below.
What can my loved one expect during respite care?
Your loved one will be welcomed into a warm and safe environment where our focus is on their comfort and purpose. Our team provides person-centred care, tailored to individual needs and preferences. This includes access to our lifestyle and activity programs, nutritious meals, and clinical support from registered nurses who are on-site 24/7. It’s a chance for them to meet new people and enjoy a change of scenery.
How do I arrange respite care?
Arranging respite care begins with an ACAT (Aged Care Assessment Team) assessment to confirm eligibility. Once you have this approval, you can get in touch with our team. We will talk with you to understand your loved one's needs and find a suitable Care Community. We are here to guide you through every step of the process with compassion and respect, making it as simple as possible.
