“Mum’s just turned 90, and she’s always been a social butterfly. She loves life, going out, and enjoying herself.” – Chris, daughter of resident Pat at Tingira Hills Care Community.
Rediscovering independence after a fall
When Pat, a vibrant 90-year-old, experienced a series of serious accidents, including a fall that resulted in a broken neck, Chris knew she needed help.
“We wanted to keep her independence as long as possible, but after her fall, I knew I couldn’t do it alone anymore,” Chris says.
Her mother’s active lifestyle and social nature made it essential to find a place where she could continue to enjoy life while receiving the care she needed.
Finding the right support with Tingira Hills Care Community
Moving her mother to Tingira Hills Care Community gave Chris peace of mind, knowing she was in safe hands.
“The team has been brilliant—absolutely brilliant,” Chris says.
Dedicated physiotherapy sessions in our Wellness Centre, led by caring team members like Justin, have helped her mother regain strength and independence.
“She’s a fighter, always pushing herself to get back up. The care has been amazing,” Chris notes, appreciating our team’s patience and encouragement.
A meaningful experience for residents
Chris’s mother has found purpose and enjoyment in her new Care Community, thanks to the Tingira Hills team’s commitment to understanding of how each person prefers to live their day.
“She’s happy and settled, always talking about her day,” says Chris. “There’s always something for her to do, and I know she’s living her life to the fullest.” .
By choosing Tingira Hills Care Community, Chris has been able to ensure her mother’s safety and wellbeing while enabling her to maintain her independence. With the compassionate support of Tingira Hills' dedicated team, Chris’s mother is enjoying her days in a caring community.
