Lifelong learning: You’re Never Too Old to Live Your Dream!
25th September 2019 | 2 min readIf you’ve ever thought that you may be a little old to try new things, take a moment to read Trinidad’s story and think again.

Recently, Trinidad who lives at Blacktown Terrace celebrated the extraordinary milestone of her 100th birthday. She celebrated the occasion with family and friends, both old and new. During her party, Trinidad shared that if she could have just one wish, it would be to learn to play a tune on the piano - something she’d never tried before. Hearing this, Lifestyle team member Valli thought she knew the perfect tutor for the task. Her daughter Emma, a talented young pianist was at a bit of a loose end during her school holidays so she jumped at the chance to share her love of music.
The pair have quickly become firm friends with the considerable generation gap easily bridged by their shared passion. Their first tune, Hot Cross Buns is coming along nicely and there’s talk of a performance for the much anticipated Blacktown Terrace Christmas Concert in the works.
