Construction begins on Opal home in Toukley
29th May 2019 | 3 min readOpal’s continuing commitment to aged care in the Central Coast region was recently celebrated with a sod turn ceremony signaling the beginning of the construction of its Opal Toukley care home.
The Mayor of the Central Coast, Jane Smith, opened the site, acknowledging the important role Opal Toukley will play in providing much needed aged care services to the local community.
With stunning views over Budgewoi and Tuggerah Lakes, the new home will provide high quality, affordable care and offer single rooms with en-suites or companion rooms, spacious outdoor areas, a central social hub with a café, a Wellness Centre with an outdoor courtyard providing individual reablement programs, and a dedicated memory support unit for people living with dementia.
The 125-bed residential aged care home will sit alongside four existing homes in Berkeley Vale, Kanwal (Opal Glenmere), Killarney Vale and Norah Head.
