Pat and Henry bond during animal therapy

Elle and her charming little Jack Russell, Henry, are part of the Delta Dog program, bringing the joy of animal therapy to our residents. They’ve been visiting Chiswick Manor for a year now and during that time Henry has become something of a celebrity around our home. He loves to give kisses to everyone he meets, especially if they’re not expecting it!
One of Henry’s favourite people to visit is Pat. A former dance teacher, Pat now has limited mobility but that doesn’t stop her from making the most of Henry’s weekly visits. She is always the last stop on Henry’s rounds so that he can spend a little extra time with her. Pat has a picture of him in her room, and everyone in the home knows that the two have a special bond. For Pat, Henry’s visit is the highlight of her week. She says, “Henry gives wonderful cuddles and he loves a scratch on the belly in return. He’s such a special little dog and his visits always brighten my day”
We never underestimate the power of animal therapy and pet therapy in the support and companionship they can provide.
