If there is an existing job vacancy you have seen advertised then you can refer a candidate from one of the jobs advertised on our listings page.

Commonly asked questions about our Refer a Friend Program
The sum of money paid depends on the role for which you refer your friend.
The finder’s fee is paid to the existing team member when the new team member completes their 6 months qualifying period.
We are offering:
- $5,000 for General Managers
- $3,000 for Care Managers
- $2,000 for Registered Nurses
- $1,500 for Enrolled Nurses, Chefs and Lifestyle Coordinators
- $1,000 for Carers and all other roles
You will be paid the agreed sum of money, depending on the role they have taken, after your friend has completed the qualifying period of six months
If the job vacancy is available online or listed on a Current Vacancies flyer, you can go HERE to view Opal's current vacancies and select the desired vacancy.
- At the bottom of every job listings is a button to click on 'Refer a Friend'.
- Fill in the necessary details
- The link with the selected job will be sent to the referred candidate
If the job vacancy is not listed and cannot be found online, please CLICK HERE and fill in the application form so we may work out if we have some job opportunities for the referred applicant.
We always aim to find an opportunity for great people and since they are your friend we will do our upmost to meet their interest and preferences.
When the candidate applies for the role they should indicate on the application that they were referred by a friend.
At the end of the application in the section of “how did you hear about this opportunity?” choose “Team Member referral” option and fill in the necessary details.
Each successfully referred candidate will be tracked and must pass the qualifying period of six months.
When you or your friend click the the 'refer a friend' option in the application form you have to note who you are referring or who the person is that is referring you.
If a team member refers it will ask them for their details including name, email, current care community and employee number.
The referred candidate's application will be flagged in our system with the following message: "This applicant has been referred by another employee". This will enable us to credit the team member with the referral.
There are no limits to the number of people you can refer

Yes, everyone is required to have a current police check to work in aged care. If you do not hold a valid check Opal HealthCare can organise this for you as part of the recruitment process.
We also conduct two (2) reference checks and a medical check which may include pre-employment drug testing.
