A purposeful career as a Lifestyle Officer
15th June 2020 | 4 minsValli was inspired to work in aged care as a Lifestyle Officer. Through her role, she facilitates social, psychological, recreational, cultural, and spiritual wellbeing activities for our residents. These activities offer stimulation and great opportunities for our residents to socialise with one another and with our team members. Residents who are living with dementia are able to express themselves through these activities in many ways – perhaps sharing their musical abilities, interacting with animals, or demonstrating their humour and wit. Sometimes it is simply through conversation that they can express their worries or anxieties. Being a Lifestyle Officer means taking on a role full of purpose and Valli finds joy in every day by connecting with the beautifully diverse and interesting residents who live in our care communities.
